I believe a dream of many men is to own something. For me it was to own an online mens clothing line.I found out that I could create a website that sells mens clothing. Now I sell mens clothing.This article is going to show you why & a few steps on how you also can start your own online clothing line. 

Before The Clothing Line, There Was Gabriel

It all started with Gerardo Gabriel. About 26 years before Gerardo Collection was created, the first initial step of the company was being born. In order to create Gerardo Collection I had to have a few key steps in my life to get to the creation and my dream of owning a online mens clothing line.

I was born on July 27, 1990 in Rio Piedras Puerto Rico. I joined the United States Marine Corps in 2008. Why does this matter? That is really where I found my passion to workout. Guess what? My passion to workout is what led me to my passion of making mens clothing.

As I gained followers on social media I started to brainstorm on how I could use my reach to create a business. Before I though of clothing, I was interested of making supplements. You have to realize in 2013 - the competition in the supplement market was a lot less than it is now.

Be The Boss.. Or Get Fired

I was sponsored by several clothing companies. Companies such as Body-engineers, Physique apparel, I was even approached by Gym Shark. However, I always felt I could go my own route & create something unique & special. Plus, let's face it... none of us want to be replaced or jobless. I realized that, as an influencer, we all have our rise, peak, & then we can either hold the peak or slowly decline.

I did not want my future to depend on sponsorships, or me having to continue to chase likes, follows etc. So in February of 2016, I decided to create along with my cousin "Gerardo Collection".

I founded my online mens clothing shop in 2016 & let me tell you... things where much different back then. E-commerce was definitely picking up traction & it was prominent, but nowhere near today. Today you have so many resources at your disposal. You have dropshipping, shopify, go daddy, wordpress, so many different options.

I remember when I started I had zero clue on fashion & even less of a clue on how to run a business. However I had all I needed which was a vision & a few million followers, which helped.

My goal? Creating The Perfect Fit

I already mentioned how I wanted to create an online mens clothing store. My vision was to be able to provide style & flexibility.As the years passed I had some ups & downs with the business & personal life.  

Everything you see now at gerardocollection.com happened after one of the toughest moments in my life. After this even is when I really narrowed down on a mens clothing niche. What was that niche? I wanted to create a mens clothing store that catered to men who workout. Men who have issues finding the perfect tailored fit because they are swole.

I then began studying fabrics & searching for manufactures. I redesigned the logo for Gerardo Collection into a more redefined logo that when you see it you can recognize it, but think to yourself "wow that screams luxury".

Fast forward to today. We are far from where we want to be, but we have made an impact on thousands of mens lives. We have provided the ultimate fashion experience to men around the world, & have worked on elevating their confidence.

At the end of the day we strive to elevate you, elevate men, elevate people through fine crafted fashion. A better you is just one order away. 

How To Start Your Own Online Clothing Line 

Now, are you interested in starting your own clothing line? You must be wondering what is the most important step? Well let me go over a few that might just help save you some time & money.

Step 1: Be Specific. Find Your Niche.

In order to be effective you need to start narrow. Let me give you an example. Do you think it would be easier to target "Mens dress clothes" or "Mens dress clothes for tall men". It will be much easier to rank and find your true target audience if you select a narrow niche to begin & then expand out from there.

Step 2: Learn the ins & outs of e-commerce.

How can you reach your biggest audience? Yep.... online. So you must learn how to run & build your website. You have to learn the ins and outs of running a e-commerce website & a brick & mortar store if you want to sell from a physical location. It may seem daunting at first, but take it one step at atime.

Step 3: Passion Is Key

Running an online mens clothing store can be overwhelming, & extremely competitive. You have to truly have a passion for it, especially on the days that it seems no progress is being made. I guarantee that if you have a passion for clothing & having your own online clothing store, you can really push through anything!
